Search Engines

Search engines are WebSites that allow you to search for other WebSites that contain information on a particular topic. Usually, you simply enter a topic and the Search Engine will return a list of WebSites that relate to your topic.

Search Engines are basically the electronic equivalent of the Yellow Pages. They are particularly important if your WebSite's target audience includes people who need to find your product or service, but who aren't aware of your company or organisation's existence.

To find out how Search Engines list search results, please see the Search Engine Watch article, "How Search Engines Work." You'll discover that every search engine works differently.
