| Virtual servers | e-mail | Domain names |

'Hosting' refers to the process of actually putting your finished website on an Internet server, allowing people from all over the world to visit, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

When you register a domain name, you must place the site on server using the name within a certain amount of time. The server on which you place your site is called the host.

Some important things to look for when choosing a host are the amount of server space, email addresses, bandwidth, CGI & FTP access, site statistics and compatible scripting technologies.

Virtual Servers

A Virtual Server is space on a web server that is used to host your company's website on the Internet. You get to publish your information in your own domain on the WWW without the hassle or cost of managing a complex Internet site or web server! You get a 24 hour a day web server connected to the Internet through multiple high-speed lines to publish your companies information to the vast amounts of potential users on the Internet. E-mail
At BARRCODE we use POP 3 based email systems. All our hosting accounts come with 10 POP 3 mail boxs as standard. This allows 10 people in your organisation to have their own private email addresses at your domain name,
more are available by request. All accounts have unlimited email address forwarding e.g. john@yourcompany.com can be forwarded to john@home-email.ie

Domain names
A domain name gives your business a professional image, is easy to remember and makes your business very simple for your customers to find on the Internet. Domains are the Internet signposts to your website.

If you register your company name as a domain e.g. www.yourcompany.com, then you can use that domain for your company's e-mail. For example: sales@yourcompany.com

(*extra bandwith charged @ 2c per MB)
